Phoenix Title Pic

You saw that title and said, “That is just wrong.” Yep, I’m really going there. It’s a reality dog owners experience so why not post about it!

And no, this will not be gross. I promise.

Let me see a show of hands from those of you who love their dogs and dogs in general?! Woo-hoo, very nice!

Now stand up and be counted for those who like going out into the yard and picking up after their dog? Oh c’mon…no one? I have a couple of close friends who absolutely refuse to do this duty. They subcontract the work out to their spouse or kids. Too funny!

But, who of you has a dog who insists on supervising your work? Yep, that’s my Golden Retriever, Phoenix. And he’s smug about it. And you can see from the header pic he was unaware of what was about to occur until I bring out the bag and little shovel. Then it begins with his enthusiasm…

I have been told (many times) that I really need to write a book about my life. The past 50+ years have been an exciting ride, and these days I find myself with a great many passions. However, I feel that this website is a much more personal way with which to share my musings, stories and commentary.

  1. One of those was mine. Sorry! That’s happens from time to time when I’ve had to much to drink. Phoenix said the bathroom was in the back yard!

  2. I find this post offensive.

  3. Mine wait until I clean the yard and then go bless it again!!

  4. This really made me laugh! and i am guilty of making my spouse pick up gracies yard 🙂

  5. Very funny!
Im not a pooper scooper. Thats a job for the girls!
I actually gotmy daughter to pick it all up a couple of days ago. I bet it doesnt last though!

Then afterwards Chi-Chi was rolling around on her clean lawn, almost teasing us saying…”You cleaned my dog poo. Nanny, nanny, nah nah!:

    • This was great, Tony! Isn’t it so funny that they appreciate all of our hard work by a good roll around in the grass. Loved the comment 🙂

  6. My dog will take a crap right next to where I’m picking up, digging, raking, whatever, Jerk! He’s the backyard bomber/mover and shaker….. Can’t stay in one spot, must bless as much property as possible…double Jerk!! Still love him.

  7. I was going to leave a comment, but Clayton has left me speechless.

Which, by the way, is hard to do.

  8. I do hate disposing of that which our dogs have disposed of.

  9. Your pup is beautiful! Good for your picking up the poop in your yard! That is something my parents did not do with our dog when I was younger, but we had a small dog. I have also heard of people installing toilets in their backyard to flush their dogs poop down.
